Sarah Samuelson
"I believe that flowers exist to beautify our world and bring us joy. The beauty of a flower is so amazing, yet so fleeting. My paintings are the way that I share the joy I feel from the beauty around me. It is incredibly fulfilling for others to experience that joy as they view my artwork." Sarah Samuelson loves to watch her brush put down colors, shapes, and textures; the way they compliment and invigorate each other intrigues her. She paints to preserve the beauty that is around her. Sarah says painting is a spiritual process for her. It is a way for her to express her gratitude for the beauty of God's creations in a format that can be shared with all. Sarah was born in Bountiful, Utah. Her mother was a florist; Sarah frequently helped her mother and was exposed to a great variety of flowers. Her appreciation for flowers has continued to grow throughout her life. Sarah was constantly drawing and painting as a child. She continued to nurture her talents and skills as an artist and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Brigham Young University. She went on to teach at Utah Valley University for several years, teaching painting, drawing, color theory, and art history. Currently she is pursuing her career as a fine artist and a mother to her beautiful daughters. Sarah is known for her tulip paintings, especially her red tulip work. Many refer to Sarah as the "tulip painter".
